Black Belt in BJJ under the Coach Roney Da Silva. She has been training in Bjj for 10 years, and the sport is a huge part of her family’s life. She has been training and fighting in MMA for the last six years, and is New Zealand’s ICNZ Featherweight MMA champ and POP Bantamweight champ. Kate has recently signed a two-year, six-fight contract to XFCI, one of Latin America’s biggest MMA promotions, and will be representing her country in Brazil, USA, and Europe.

Black belt under Paulo Oliveira “Sorriso” is a half Brazilian half Kiwi living in NZ. He is an accomplished business man which lives the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lifestyle and loves the art! Currently a coach at SORRISO BJJ NEW ZEALAND on his spare time Rafael has not only invested his time in helping coach and develop National Champions and also International competitors but he is also a keen competitor himself and has achieved many National titles and international medals in Australia and Brazil. Rafael’s main goal going forward is to help inspire the younger practitioners to follow the path and enjoy the ride!

Ryann Creary

Ryann Creary

Brown belt under Professor Paulo Polimeno at Flow Martial Arts on the Gold Coast.  Having started Jiu-Jitsu in late 2008 after a brief stint in Muay Thai, Ryann has been a constant competitor in the Australian scene.  As a co-owner and teacher at Flow Martial Arts, Ryann juggles running the business and teaching with a busy competition schedule.  Notable achievements are 2 x gold at the Pan Pacific Titles (brown belt), 2nd in the 2015 Abu Dhabi Trials (brown/black belt), 4 x gold at the 2015 Aus Nationals (brown belt), 2nd at Grappling Industries Open Weight (brown/black belt).  Future goals for Ryann are to continue teaching and strive to have a new generation of athletes come out of Flow Martial Arts.

Brown belt under Will-Machado Team. Joel has been training, competing and a student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for around 9 years.  Jiu Jitsu for him means more than just a martial art, his team is his family, and his mat, it is his life. His greatest achievement to date is being able to pass on his knowledge to his students and seeing their triumphs and success on and off the mats. Multiple AFBJJ State Champion / 2 x Pan Pacific Champion / International & IBJJF Gold Medallist

Daniel Browne

Daniel Browne

BJJ brown belt under Marco Mazzanti and Ed Bavelock of Kimekai MMA/ Peter de Been Jiu Jitsu located in Melbourne, Victoria. He has been training since 2010 and in that time won multiple events both locally and abroad, including multiple state, national and international titles (IBJJF Melbourne International/ Pan Pacific Championships) as well as medalling in NAGA events in the USA. Daniel is a senior instructor at Kimekai MMA in the adult and youth BJJ programs and has worked along UFC fighters and hopefuls such as Brian Ebersole in preparation for their MMA bouts. Daniel relishes in the opportunity to pass on his knowledge to the students, and watching them develop and succeed in their goals. Outside of the dojo Daniel is a 4th year Physiotherapy student who is looking to pursue a career in sports medicine.

Born and raised in Singapore and currently living in Sydney, Australia, Winston discovered jiujitsu during his undergraduate studies in Sydney and never looked back. Training out of Garage jiujitsu Bondi Junction under Gui Neves, Winston is a regular in the local competition scene but has his sights on the international stage. Through his achievements in BJJ, Winston aims to one day inspire others to work hard, truly pursue their dreams and attain fulfillment in their lives. “Competition brings out the best in myself and my opponent. Win, lose or draw, the end result is irrelevant when you have prepared the best you can and have truly given it your all.”

Purple belt under Professor Daniel Cherubin at De La Riva Jiu Jitsu Geelong. A highly active competitor with a broad, well rounded skill set in jiujitsu, he has developed a strong mindset from undergoing a lay off due to a large injury. This lay off has given him the fire to fight and compete in everything he possibly can. With a deep appreciation for a fully functioning body, he has the will to fight and learn as much as physically possible and pass on to the next generation of Australian competitors. Kain works full time whilst training and drilling every evening with a strength & conditioning routine in the mornings.

BJJ Competitor who trains under Professor Guga at Gracie Barra Newcastle. Having been training seriously in BJJ for three years, Arnie last year set a goal to compete in every competition in NSW. Arnie has won gold medals in a number of events, including Trible bull in NSW, NSW State Champion ship, Sydney Cup, Abu Dhabi Australia and IBJJF Sydney open. He enjoys the challenge of BJJ and the fit and healthy lifestyle it affords him.

Jeremy Ong

Purple Belt under Alexandre Santos at ASBJJ Cia Paulista North Melbourne. He was first introduced to the sport through a friend and has since been training 5 years. Jeremy has dedicated himself to regular training and competing to further improve himself on and off the mats.

Kayne Ward

Blue belt under professor Lineu Vilanova and Marcos Lira at Australian Elite Team Brisbane. Kayne started training Jiu Jitsu in 2015 and competing that same year. He began 2016 QBJJC/AFBBJ season strong and kept up the momentum through the year. He finished the year ranked number 1 for Queensland and Australia in Gi and No Gi for 2016. Getting his blue belt only recently he is dedicated to training and competing and looks to take to the fight to the interstate and international competition scene.
